Is Delulu really the Solulu? Manifestation theory unpacked
Unlocking the Power of the "Delulu Theory" to Transform Your Life

If you’ve been keeping up with the world of manifestation, you’ve probably heard of the "Delulu Theory." If not, let me break it down for you. The theory suggests that by acting as though you already have your desires, they’ll inevitably show up for you. Why? Because, as the theory goes, it’s a “glitch in the matrix.” The quantum field aligns with your energy and brings your desires to fruition.
At first glance, this might sound far-fetched, even delusional. Aligning with the “frequency” of your desires to attract them can feel abstract—like, how do you match the frequency of a yacht or a million dollars? Let’s unpack this idea in a way that makes sense, grounding it in both neuroscience and practical application.
The Science Behind "Act As If"
This isn’t about magical thinking; it’s about understanding how your brain works. One critical component is the Reticular Activating System (RAS)—a part of your brain that filters information and focuses on what matters most to you. By intentionally aligning your thoughts and actions with your goals, you train your RAS to notice opportunities, solutions, and connections that support your desires.
In simple terms, acting as if means embodying the mindset and habits of the person who’s on the path to achieving their goals. It’s not pretending you’re already there but becoming the version of yourself who is actively working toward those dreams.
Let’s break it down further.
Step 1: Assess Your Current Self
Take a moment to reflect on your current reality. Ask yourself:
How do I currently act in my daily life?
What’s my inner dialogue like?
Do I treat tasks with curiosity and purpose, or do I see them as mundane?
Am I reacting to life on autopilot, or am I intentionally shaping my actions?
Do my habits reflect the kind of person who would achieve my goals?
This reflection is crucial because change begins with awareness.
Step 2: Visualise Your Desired Self
Close your eyes and visualise a day in the life of your future self—the one who has achieved your desires. How do they think, act, and feel? Are they more confident, disciplined, or assertive?
Imagine the skills they’ve mastered.
Notice how they respond to challenges.
Observe their daily habits and routines.
If you need guidance, you can use a meditation practice.

Step 3: Build the “Bridge Self”
Here’s where the transformation begins. The “Bridge Self” is the version of you that connects your current self to your desired self. This isn’t about skipping steps or pretending; it’s about growth and preparation.
Ask yourself:
What skills or habits is my Bridge Self developing?
How does she speak to herself?
What changes is she making in her daily routine?
What new responsibilities does she take on to hold space for her desires?
For example, if you’re aiming to move from being a customer consultant to a manager, your Bridge Self might:
Begin taking initiative at work.
Develop organisational systems.
Complete a leadership course to build relevant skills.
This transitional phase is where the magic happens. The Bridge Self is the most powerful version of you because she’s actively creating new neural pathways and building the foundation for lasting change.
Journal Prompts to Activate Your Transformation
Write down every detail about how you currently show up in the world.
Visualise and describe your desired self in detail—how she thinks, acts, and feels.
Write about your Bridge Self. What qualities, skills, and habits are emerging?
Affirmations for Your Journey
To support your transformation, try these affirmations:
"I am growing into the best version of myself every day."
"I embrace the discipline and growth required to achieve my dreams."
"I am aligned with my goals and take intentional steps toward them."
By nurturing your Bridge Self, you set the stage for continuous upgrades in your life. Remember, the goal isn’t to jump straight into the life of your dreams but to embrace the journey of becoming the person who’s ready for those dreams.
Focus on transforming your self-concept, and you’ll find yourself not just achieving your desires but becoming the version of you who holds them with confidence and grace.
